Winter 2011 vacation

After the cruise, I flew back to Mexico to go to the Blue Bay Esmeralda resort and meet a friend there for the last week of my trip. It was nice to finally have some company. The resort was very nice. We went to Playa del Carmen one afternoon but for the rest of the time we just enjoyed the beach and pools and the nice weather. It was a nice ending to a so-so trip.

Next day was in Coco Cay, a Royal Caribean Island. Beautifull. Gorgeous weather. Best day of my whole trip. And I got a free seadoo excursion because my other excursion in Key west had ben cancelled. It was the first time I rode a seadoo (or jetski as they call it there) and it was so much fun!!!

We arrived in Nassau the next day and the weather was beautiful, hot and sunny. I could see the famous Atlantis Resort in the distance. I went on an excursion to Captain Blackbeard's beach for the day and saw a bunch of stingrays in the water... Ugly little creatures.lol

Then back on the cruiseship for supper and a show. Royal Caribean is awesome! Only complaint, the A/C is way too high. I was freezing the whole time on the ship and couldn't even enjoy a drink. Oh well, they're not included in the price anyways...

Finally the day of my Bahamas cruise had arrived! I was really excited about this part of my trip because I hadn't been to the Bahamas yet and even though it was only a 4 days cruise, it was going to be fun! We left the Miami port that evening to arrive in Key West the next morning. But the speedboat excursion that I had booked got cancelled and so I decided to just take the Conch Tour Train and visit the area. The first day was just ok but tomorrow we'd get to the Bahamas!!!

My next day in Miami I used the metromover to go all around downtown and visit the surrounding areas more in depth. I also did another tour in South Beach with a 25c bus. Those 2 combined were almost better than tehhop on and off tour bus that had guides who either pretended to be clowns and made fun of people walking adown the street, or who spent their whole ride taking to the driver instead of teling us about the different sights.
